What a thrill seeing our printed glass on Channel 7’s House Rules Grand Finals project! The four remaining teams were given 4 days to complete the fitout of a Nano-Homes freight house for Lionel, who had become homeless due to circumstances beyond his control. Teams were instructed to “be cheeky with the use of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’s wallpaper”, amongst other rules.
Team George & Laith were responsible for the bathroom and wanted to incorporate the wallpaper they had chosen in the shower niche. They resourcefully scanned a high-resolution copy of the wallpaper and sent us the digital file to print onto glass. Within 3 days we were able to deliver LLB’s Craney Day wallpaper glass print to site with LEDA Aluminium. It was a delight to see George gush over the printed glass, with comments such as “Wow, look at that! Very happy with it. Didn’t think it was possible!” while acknowledging its practicalities of having “no condensation issues”.
Unfortunately, team Kimmy & Rhi were not so lucky to have found us, despite having a similar idea for the kitchen splashback. Upon seeing our printed glass, they commented “if we could’ve done it, it would have given us the edge. I just don’t know if we can compete with [the printed glass].”
Now awaiting the Grand Finale showing on Sunday 7pm. Good luck to the boys! We’re so happy that they were willing to embrace innovative technology and bring it to the forefront of national TV!
